M.Sc. in Archaeological Sciences | Thesis Track | Taught in English
Archaeological Sciences integrates methods from the natural, exact, and computer sciences to study human evolution—physical, cultural, social, and technological.
Research Areas: Our faculty combines scientific approaches with archaeology to understand past societies through:
Bio-archaeology, zoo-archaeology, and botanical archaeology
Geo-archaeology and environmental archaeology
Archaeo-metallurgy and archaeological chemistry
Computational archaeology
Key Research Themes:
Site formation processes through sediment analysis
Movement of people and artifacts (stone tools, ceramics, metals) via microscopic, elemental, and isotope analysis
Ancient crafts: pottery, metallurgy, construction materials
Mediterranean trade networks
Human-animal-plant interactions
World-Class Facilities: Ten analytical laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment for studying all archaeological materials—artifacts, bones, teeth, sediments, and micro-remains—using microscopes, spectrometers, mass-spectrometers, scanners, and image analysis.
Unique Program: Israel’s only institution offering comprehensive training that connects archaeology with natural, exact, and computational sciences in one place.
M.Sc. Degree: A two-year, thesis-based Master of Science program taught entirely in English.
