בונים את ההיסטוריה!  הקורס המדהים שלנו לבניית דגמי כלי שיט ומתקנים ימיים. הקורס משלב בין יצירתיות, מחקר ארכיאולוגי ימי ולמידה מעשית.מטרת הקורס לבניית דגמי כלי שיט ומתקנים ימיים היא כפולה:האחת, ללמוד מבנה כלי שיט עתיקים, מתקנים ימיים ומבני נמל באמצעות בניית דגמים והאחרת, מחקר כלי שיט עתיקים, על ידי בניית דגמים.במהלך הקורס נלמדים הידע הבסיסי הנדרש לבניית דגמים והטכניקות השונות, והאמצעים הנדרשים לשם כך עומדים לרשות הסטודנטים. הדגמים משמשים ללימוד מבנה כלי שיט עתיקים וככלי מחקר לשם השוואה, ללימוד וכאמצעי לבדיקת היתכנות של ממצאים ארכיאולוגיים ימיים, אשר רובם, גם אם שרדו בחלקם, ואולי אף נחקרו, נמצאים עדיין בקרקעית הים. כמו כן נעשית היכרות עם חלק מחומרי הגלם ששימשו לבנייתם וכלי העבודה. במהלך הקורס מתבצעת בנייה מעשית של דגמים, בהתאם לנושאים הנלמדים.The aim of the woodworking workshop is twofold: to study ancient ship construction, marine installations and harbour construction by building scaled models; and research of ancient shipbuilding by building wooden models.During the course the basic knowledge required for model building is given; the various techniques are taught and carpentry tools needed for building the models are provided. The wooden models are used for the study of ancient ship construction, and, in some cases, as a research tool for understanding the method in which a shipwreck, or other underwater archaeological find, was constructed. In addition, the students learn about the raw materials – mainly different wood species, and the tools used for the construction of these shipwrecks. At the end of the course students
